ST. PETER

The patronal feast in honor of St. Peter the Apostle in Calascibetta dates back to the time of Peter II of Aragon, who spent so much on the town. The feast lasts three days and is particularly experienced by the religious Confraternities who, with not inconsiderable efforts, organize it with the collaboration of the local Pro-Loco and the municipal administration. During the three days, the country comes alive: bands and musical ensembles enliven the days. The festivity ends with the solemn procession of the simulacrum of the patron saint carried on the shoulders of the faithful of the Confraternity dedicated to him. For the occasion, the streets are illuminated with colorful lights.
