The festivities in honor of Maria Santissima di Buonriposo take place in Calascibetta in an area not far from the town between the first Saturday and first Monday of September, the day on which the procession takes place.

Legend has it that a rock with the features of the Madonna was found near the sulfur mines. A diatribe immediately arose between those who wanted the rock in the village and the miners who wanted it to remain near the mine. A miracle intervened to resolve the issue: the rock became very heavy and the miners could no longer lift it. There arose the shrine of Mary Most Holy of Buonriposo, which was renovated in 1911.

Saturday is the day of the Sagra della Salsiccia curated by the Pro Loco Association of Calascibetta, Sunday is characterized by the Palio dei Berberi, a horse race ridden bareback by jockeys among the scents of thyme and herbs, and Monday is the day dedicated to religious celebrations.
